OK, here's how this works, folks. ABATE district four will set the exact date, as they're the hosting party. It's always been in mid-July, and I expect it will be next year, too. I'll post the exact date as soon as it's set. As to the "where", Turner Bend is a long-established campground on the Mulberry River in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas. It's about 40 miles southeast of Fayetteville, Arkansas, where I live. The nearest little town is Ozark, Arkansas, which is about 15 miles south of Turner Bend. This would be the nearest site for motels for those not wanting to sleep on the ground. The campground is on highway 16, also known as the Pig Trail, and this is a terrific bike road. There are many other 2-lane twisties in the area, all of them just great for riders. The river is a whitewater stream, and though generally low in July, there are still plenty of long pools full of cool water for swimming. The campground has a store that sells groceries, ice, beer, etc. There are hot showers. I'll keep posting to this site as things develop. Meanwhile, for those who haven't seen it, here's the link to Turner Bend. Check it out, and let's get this thing going, folks!
Cheers!
